Twitter Offers Bonuses To Unsatisfied Employees

Twitter is making efforts to keep the unsatisfied workers happy again by giving out bonuses to prevent them from leaving the company.

Twitter is making desperate attempts to keep its unhappy employees happy again so that they do not end up quitting. The micro blogging site is giving bonuses to workers ranging, between $50,000 and $200,000 so that they stick longer. These bonuses are being provided through restricted stock so that the employees stay for at least six months or even just a year longer.

The social media network reported a loss of 50% of its shares value, and another 3.5% down the hill on Thursday morning when the stock exchange opened. Junior employees are even getting the announced bonuses in the form of restricted shares of the company, as an attempt to keep the workers when they are needed the most. The company is facing huge defeat in the value of its stocks and business and has reportedly been failing to grow its user base.

The social media platform even lost many of its senior executives this year and last year, as they decided to work in other companies, because of seeing no light at the end of the tunnel for a while. Its former CEO, Dick Costolo even left because of failing to get the company back up on its feet, which is when Jack Dorsey took the matter into his own hands and was made the permanent CEO after a while.

The employees who left the company said the environment of the workplace to be highly stressing and an unhappy place to work at after Costolo left last year. Twitter Inc. has not changed much after Costolo’s departure with just an addition of a few new features which have not proven to be as successful as the CEO had hoped them to be including, Moments and the buy now button. The environment of the company has also been called to be not as diverse as it should be with more male workers than female workers.

The social media advertising organization faces changes in its management very frequently which can turn out to be a huge distraction for the workers and it performance standards and reviews are not stable like they should be. Employees eventually started to complain about the paycheck that they were receiving and even other benefits. The company’s motto of advertising is highly efficient but it does not play a huge part because of the small user base the business has.

Twitter tried to come up with new ideas and kept adding them to its platform to make it trendy and as entertaining as possible, to attract more users, but all have them failed. It only has 300 million active users, which is nothing in comparison to its rivals such as Facebook, Instagram and others.
