Alibaba To Launch Its Physical Store

Alibaba will come up with its own physical store in the Tianjin Trade Free Zone in the foreseeable future.

Recently, the trend is increasing for the online retailers out there who are coming up with physical stores to boost sales. Alibaba Group Holding has plans to open a physical store in the coming times in order to attract buyers for imported products. According to reports, the online retailer will be opening its store in the northern port city of Tianjin, China which might help the company in boosting sales for its imported products that vary from imported kitchen equipment to imported food items.

Alibaba Group’s new store is located in the 20,000 square meter retail outlet which also has other shopping arcades within its surrounding. It is known as Yujiapu financial district of Tianjin Free Trade Zone. Previously, Amazon opened its physical store in the United States to improve and increase its buyers for a few product ranges and Alibaba is following the similar plan and idea as it soon will open a physical store in its own country. This move tells that the online retailers are interested in opening and operating more physical stores in the foreseeable future to increase customer base and improve their shopping experience.

The Chinese tech giant believes that the physical store would contribute towards more sales due to the physical availability of the product. Amazon opened a brick and mortar book store first back in November in Seattle. It was also rumored that the US retail giant is looking for a location in New York to open its retail store as well.

The US based company also opened its outlet in Alibaba online marketplace, Tmall, as it plans to bolster its market presence in China. The Seattle based firm is looking to do good business in the Chinese retail market regardless of the fact that it is dominated by Alibaba single handedly. With this move, Amazon made itself a customer of Alibaba and with every sale it makes through Tmall, it will have to pay the decided commission to the online marketplace every time.

The Chinese firm is working to make it easy for the customers to visit its first ever physical store. The company has hired two train rides that would be moving between the tracks of Beijing and Tianjin free trade zone. Another benefit for using train would be that the customers will be allowed to browse for the products available in the physical store and then place their desired orders before reaching the destination.
