Walmart All Set To Launch Its Own Version Of Prime Day

Wal-Mart will be standing up for all the customers who do not want to pay more to get better deals.

Wal-Mart Stores

Walmart Stores Inc. is one of the biggest and oldest brick and mortar stores in the United States. The company also runs and operates an online store in order to compete against all other online retailers, such as Amazon, Target, Best Buy, etc. Amazon is the reigning monarch of online American shopping and currently no other company comes close to it, but Walmart is all in to compete against it in recent times.

Walmart has launched its own version of Prime and now, it seeks to launch a rival sale that will take on Amazon’s Prime Day. An escalation has been noticed in the battle between both giants for retail domination. As soon as Amazon announced its Prime Day that will be bigger and better than Black Friday, Walmart is right there to steal the spotlight from it.

According to sources, it is believed that the company will be offering nearly 2,000 or more exclusive rollback on its Walmart online store. Rollbacks are its ‘word’ for offering discounts to its customers.

According to USA Today, “The lower prices on items in categories including electronics, home, baby and toys will last 90 days, the typical time period for rollbacks, which Walmart usually has hundreds of at any given time throughout the year. Starting Monday, Walmart is also reducing the minimum order for free shipping from $50 to $35 for at least 30 days.”

Walmart is basically doing all it can for ‘every’ customer. Unlike Amazon that is offering its Prime Day only to Amazon Prime members, ‘who pay $99 a year to be part of the service that offers free two-day shipping and access to video streaming and music’, Walmart will be doing this differently. The company has called out on rival and slated it by writing in a blog post that with this rival sale launch, it is standing for every customer that does not like to pay or get subscription of a premium service like Amazon Prime.

It is known that Walmart is also launching its own premium service in the coming times. It even then intends to oppose the decision of Amazon. The spokesperson of the company, Ravi Jariwala, stated that the management believes in providing better services and deals to everyone and it should not only be restricted to people who pay more or better. That is mere discrimination.

According to sources, “Walmart has been going up against Amazon on multiple fronts recently as the retailers compete for customers and sales.”
