Amazon Cloud Easy To Use With Netflix New Tool

Amazon Prime

Netflix unveiled Spinnaker that would deploy software codes on machines running on Amazon cloud.

It is known that Amazon’s cloud computing business is one of the biggest in the industry. In fact, it is one of the power houses in the sector which has proved to be better than the likes of Microsoft and Google. Netflix has the honor of streaming movies and shows to almost 60 million consumers across the globe. It will not be wrong to say that the platform has grown exponentially where 10 billion hours of content is delivered on an average each month. And mostly what happens is that the content delivered encompasses hundreds of computers that are in someone else's ownership.

The video empire of NFLX is governed via the cloud computing platform provided by Amazon Inc. This service allows the consumers to rent out bundles of computing ability on its ecosystem. The cloud computing industry is already complicated in terms of technicalities and to top it off Netflix just took this complication to a whole new level.

However, the company wants to make it easy for the machines that are running on Amazon’s cloud. It is believed that the streaming service provider has previously built tools as well that used to deploy the software code quickly and continuously to the machines that run on Amazon’s cloud. The internet TV Company unveiled an open source tool to the masses so that public users can use it as well.

Netflix has done similar projects in the past too but this one is a bit different from all others. The streaming giant collaborated with Google to build the Spinnaker. It is known that Google is one of the biggest rivals of Amazon in the cloud industry and both Silicon Valley companies go head to head to lead in the market.

Spinnaker will be deploying the latest software codes to the machines running on both Amazon and Google clouds. The internet company spent almost a year to make sure that Netflix includes it in the deal.

Wired reports, “Google joined forces with Netflix on Spinnaker because it wants businesses to use the tool with the Google cloud. And Netflix joined forces with Google because it wants to ensure that it can take advantage of any improvements Google makes to the tool.” Amazon is currently moving forward with its Amazon Prime Video segment and in a short span of time it has become a major threat to Netflix. But the streaming giant runs its huge business on the cloud machines of the biggest rival in the industry.
