Samsung Is Lowering The Cost Of Its Phones Through Exynos 7 Octa 7870 Chipset

Exynos 7 Octa 7870 chipset is going to be installed in Samsung's ecofriendly phones.

Samsung Electronics Corporation Limited showcased the Exynos 7420 chips last year and what it was capable of doing. The tech giant made announcement of installing these 7 octa 7870 in its mid ranged smartphones, making them more ecofriendly for customers. This chip is the South Korean company’s best chipset and consists of the 14 nanometer FinFet process tech.

The Galaxy maker has not revealed any further details regarding the installation in it future phones of this chip. For witnesses who are critical of this decision, the functionality of the 7870 is not unknown as it was shown powering the upcoming mid ranged smartphone of the company, the Galaxy J7, which will be released this year.

The maker of the best smartphones in around the globe’s Exynos Octa 7 7870 chipset is the successor of the company’s 7850 chip and was seen powering the Galaxy J7 in 2015. This latest chipset features eight cortex-A53 CPU, with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz maximum.

This great news for the South Korean company’s mid ranged phones which might be made even more ecofriendly if these latest chips are installed in them. The high end phones of the tech giant might be powered by the Exynos 8 Octa 8890. The mid ranged chipset will provide phones with better performance and more power efficiency, according to the company the 7870 chip might consume 30% less energy than other mobile phones which are SoC based on 28nm metal gate process tech.

The chip is also being manufactured for better camera performance, display and better functionality of the components. The 7870 will be having a 6 LTE modem, 2 band carrier aggregation giving a speed of 300 MB per second. The chipset also has the capability to power 1080p 60fps of video playback, giving a resolution of 1920x1200. It can support a 16 megapixel front camera and 8 mega pixel secondary camera.

The production of these spectacular chips will begin in just a few months and might witnessed powering many of the company’s mid ranged smartphones by the end of 2016. The chips are smaller in size, but still promise better performance and efficiency, hence the size has not affected the performance or the output of these chips. Qualcomm might be seen less in Samsung phones in the future as the company is now trying to be as independent as possible by making these Exynos chips.

The Exynos 7 Octa 7870 14nm chips will not just be seen in expensive product of the tech giant but its cheaper more affordable products too. Better performance and functionality is going to be seen in the future mid-ranged products of the organization thanks to these upcoming chips.
