Samsung Officially Announces Its Rugged Galaxy S6 Version

Samsung did a tremendous business after the release of Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. It was reported that the company managed to sell at least 305,000 phones per day and that resulted in making it the largest smartphone vendor in the world. After losing so much to its market rivals, it was determined to get back on track and did it rightly so. The new Galaxy S6 models were the game changers for the company in just two months after its launch.

However, in order to keep going with the good pace in the market, the company planned to add another phone in its flagship products category. There were rumors that the corporate giant is all set to announce a more rugged version of its S6 model, but not confirmed whether when it will hit the markets and through what carriers.

According to sources, The Korean company and AT&T announce the latest Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, which focuses more on durability and ruggedness. One source reports, “Releasing an Active version of their flagship Galaxy device has become a tradition for Samsung since the Galaxy S4, and it looks like this year is no exception. While it differs in its construction and design…”, the specifications are said to be same as it is.

The recent flagship phone will have a 5.1-inch display screen, but the mechanism, hardware, and software specifications are mostly same. However, the only major difference is the way in which it is constructed and designed. The design totally differs from the predecessor, as it will not be a pure touch screen smartphone. The new phone will have physical buttons instead of touch buttons.

The new Active model has received mixed reviews so far. Some people appreciate that the company has brought little change to its phone; however, others feel that S6 Active has ruined the charm of the traditional S6 that was previously released. According to The Verge, “AT&T will begin offering it on June 12th at a price that's just a touch higher than the standard S6, at $23.17 per month on a Next 24 plan (that makes it just shy of $700 total), up from the S6's $22.84. It's available in three styles: white camo, blue camo, and gray — they're all a significant step down from the S6 proper.”

It is a matter of time to find out how this phone turns out to be in the market.
