Google and Samsung Are Threats To Apple

Google and Samsung can pose great threat to Apple's iPhone in the coming times.

Google and Samsung Are Threats To Apple

According to an investment research firm, Jeffries, it was reported that Apple is expected to be shipping at least 47 million iPhones in this quarter. These numbers are higher than what Street estimated, 45.5 million iPhones, to be sold in this quarter and miles ahead of Jeffries expectations of 39.5 million iPhones.

BidnessETC reports, “The firm says the revision comes out of stronger checks on Apple’s sales mix in China, together with a growing shift to the iPhone 6 in several territories. Jefferies findings suggest local vendors, including Xiaomi have struggled especially in the mid to low range bracket.”

Irrespective of such a strong lead over any other smartphone company, Jeffries has warned the iPhone manufacturer and its investors of the threat, which Samsung Galaxy 6 imposes on the market share of Apple’s iPhone in the coming times. According to Jeffries, “Google Inc. and Samsung could still threaten Apple Inc. iPhone.”

It is believed that Chinese consumers are all set to be moving upmarket into the premium price range. The investment firm expected that the iPhone market in China would be led by replacements and upgrades. For that matter, the investment firm moved the earnings per share estimate of Apple to $9.21 from $9.11.

Apple is doing a good business and has many positive numbers. However, it is facing a tough challenge from the South Korean smartphone giant, Samsung, as well as Google. Jeffries explains that the investors are significantly overlooking such competitive challenges that Samsung and Google are posing to Apple and its products. According to the company’s latest survey conducted, it was found out that Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and its standard version are gaining massive acceptance from global smartphone consumers.

According to sources, “Chinese demand for the device was enough to create a shortage of the Gold version of the S6. Samsung’s pre-order mix was skewed 60/40 favoring the S6 Edge over the S6.”

According to the same survey, the Korean corporation has turned the tables in its favor. Furthermore, the investment firm expects it to ship at least 50 million Galaxy S6 devices by the end of this year. The company has totally changed its market status and is now recognized as the powerhouse of smartphone market once again.

The Korean giant promised last year that it would make a positive comeback, following very poor results due to Galaxy S5 sales. However, it is now again the largest smartphone vendor in the world, which poses a great threat to Apple’s iPhone and is expected to do more business than Apple this year.
