Teens Prefer Instagram Over Twitter And Snapchat

The trend of social media is on a high. Almost every kid to youth and adults are into social media network of their own preference. Many new and existing users of social media have turned into social addicts. In recent times, these social addicts preferred Twitter over any other social media platform however this is not the case anymore. Currently, the market is very much competitive with the entry of a few new players as well as upping the game by previously existing players such as Instagram.

Snapchat has taken over the world in a very short time and its unique idea of sharing your daily routine or experiences by sending a photo(s) to your loved ones has gotten into the heads of teens. This age is mostly known as a digital age as well as the social media age. Facebook is the most big name and it is a very large and popular social media network name in the sector however teens. Now, are not impressed with what Facebook does and its offerings. Adults are more into Facebook than teens. Twitter Inc.’s time to be the most preferred has also faded away.

Now, Instagram is ruling over all these, not in terms of stats but teens’ preference. According to a study, teens’ first choice is mostly Instagram or any other social media network except Facebook. Piper Jaffray conducted this survey and came to a conclusion that 33 percent of the United States’ teens prefer Instagram and it is the most popular social media site. Twitter was the second most popular with 20 percent and Snapchat was on third place with 19 percent.

For many users, Facebook is now all boring. It ended up fourth with just a 15 percent popularity and preference rate for teens. As Digital Trends report, “Facebook’s difficulties with the teen demographic had been known since at least 2013, when the company itself admitted that it had experienced a small decline in the number of teen users.”

The creditability is not an issue here as Piper Jaffray is one of the most reliable names when it comes to conducting surveys. For the past 15 years, it has been conducting surveys twice a year. Users are content with the offerings of Instagram because it is most picture based and easy to browse whereas Twitter is best with rapid fire commentaries and breaking news. Snapchat has become popular because of sending/posting images for a matter of time.
