Amazon Recalls Millions Of Fire Tablet Chargers

Amazon emailed its Irish and British customers about the faulty Fire tablet chargers and is offering free replacement amid safety fears.

Amazon Inc. values its customers irrespective of the Prime membership and cares about them. Recently, when the craze of the newly invented hoverboards took over the young generation by storm, as all other online marketplaces Amazon listed it for its customers too. But with the passage of time, it was found out that the fictional levitating board is not at all safe regardless of how well you know it. The hoverboard caused some serious accidents and thus was discontinued by Amazon. It also announced to refund all customers who bought the hoverboard from its online marketplace.

This shows that the company is not only minting money by selling items. Despite hoverboards were called dangerous and risky, many people were still buying it but Amazon was not on of them. Therefore it cares about it customers. A similar situation has arisen now as the online retailer fears of electric shocks in its Fire tablet chargers. According to sources, the firm has issued a warning to all the Fire tablet users about the electric shock danger. Furthermore, the users are being urged to get them replaced as soon as possible.

Reportedly the online retail giant has recalled more than millions of Fire tablet chargers which also include the children’s versions as it fears dangerous electric shocks. As soon as it learned about the issue, the Seattle based tech firm started emailing customers hastily who bought the gadget for $140 (£100) during Christmas holidays. The issue in the chargers is faulty plugs which might fall apart when the users tries to plug it out from the charging socket.

This may leave users at a huge risk of injuring themselves through electric shocks. It is believed that the firm is forcing the tablet owners who bought the device on September 2015 and onwards to get themselves a new charger for safety reasons.

So far now, Amazon sent millions of emails to its customers in England and Ireland which stated “We have determined that, in rare cases, when the power adapter included with the UK Fire 7” and UK Fire Kids Edition 7” tablet is pulled from the wall socket, the adapter assembly may detach and create a risk of electrical shock.”

The company has announced that it will replace the faulty chargers for free by saying that Amazon prioritizes customer safety hence urged customers to exchange the original power adapters from the company’s headquarters.

A spokesperson of Amazon said in a statement, “This issue affects power adapters, not tablets. We wanted to proactively reach out to customers out of an abundance of caution.”

It is a good act that the online retailer came forward and pointed out the faulty charging adapters before it received any major complains from the users. The free replacement of chargers is a generous act and the users should act faster to get the replacement as soon as possible.
